OCZ Launches ‘Budget Friendly’ Onyx 2 SandForce-Driven SSD Series
OCZ Technology has been releasing solid-state drives (SSDs) faster than most can keep up with and today is no exception with the unveiling of new Onyx 2 Series. The Onyx 2 series are made up of 120GB and 240GB 2.5 inch SSDs that have been designed for mainstream desktops and mobile systems. The SandForce-driven Onyx 2 deliver up to 270MB/s read and 265MB/s write performance and for those that like IOPS the Onyx 2 can do up to 10,000 random write IOPS (4k aligned). OCZ said that the Onyx 2 will deliver excellent performance with lower price per gigabyte than that of other comparable drives on the market. Sadly, the company didn’t mention any pricing. The Onyx 2 Series is backed by a 2-year warranty and should be shipping to retailers worldwide.
