Corsair A70 Dual 120mm Fan HDT CPU Cooler Review

By

Corsair has really been making waves as of late, with the release of their Hydro Series H70, and this A70 heatpipe direct touch cpu cooler seems to making just as big a splash. Our testing here puts it against the highest end air coolers and it does surprisingly well for its $55 price tag, read on to see just how well!

Corsair A70 Heatpipe Direct Touch CPU Cooler

The A70 is a Heatpipe Direct Touch (HDT) cooler. This means the A70 does not have a traditional cooler base; rather, the heatpipes sit right on the CPU itself. With the pipes directly on the CPU the heat can be transferred to the cooling fins quicker. The HDT design also needs larger heatpipes that can flatten for the base. The larger diameter also allow for larger surface area to aid in heat dissipation. Currently the A70 can be found on sale with rebate for $54.99 plus shipping. This puts it in close range to the recently tested Cooler Master V6 and the Zalman CNPS 10x Performa. So it will be interesting to see how the A70 will stack up.
