Facebook Adds ‘Panic Button’

The powers that be at Facebook are further caving to pressure to add more safety controls on their product to help protect minors from online predators.

Facebook has announced it will allow a “panic button” application on its social networking site. The button, aimed at children and teenagers, will report abuse to the UK Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (Ceop) and Facebook. Once installed, the application appears on their homepage to say that “they are in control online”.
