MTV & Harmonix Demos Rock Band 3 at E3 2010
MTV Games and Harmonix invited us to attend the debut and hands-on demonstration of Rock Band 3. Out of the box Rock Band 3 will feature 83-track soundtrack from bands around the world including bands that have never appeared in any music games. The game will also support existing Rock Band tracks making the Rock Band 3 music library overr 2,000 songs. Our video, however, shows the playability and new features that RB3 will have including: Support for up to 7 players at a time; New “Pro Drums” which support three expansion cymbals; “Pro Keys” which support real midi keyboards; and “Pro Guitar” that features notated guitar and bass performances from controllers that are real guitar hybrids. Check out the Rock Band 3 Squier Stratocaster, a fully functional, full-sized, six-string electric guitar acting as an RB3 controller!
MTV Games and Harmonix invited selective press to attend the debut and hands-on demonstration of Rock Band 3. The video shows the background of the game and how it has changed over the years as well as the new multi-part harmony on vocals, new keyboard part, and the show-stopper (at least for me): A real electric guitar mapped to play in the game. To me it looks like a MAJOR upgrade in the Rock Band series.
