Taiwan-based Gigabyte Technology has announced net profits of NT$2.04 billion (US$63.3 million) for 2009. Revenues for 2009 totaled NT$43.91 billion with EPS of NT$3.24. Gigabyte shipped 18 million motherboards in 2009, accounting for 65% of the company’s revenues; of the shipments, 17.01 million units were branded products. For 2010, the company expects its motherboard shipments will be able to reach 20 million units with 18 million units own-brand products.

As for other product lines, graphics cards accounted for 10% of Gigabyte’s revenues, servers and storage equipment 10-15%, while the remaining shares were composed by notebooks and handheld devices. As the revenue share from server and storage equipment business is expected to rise to 20-30% in the future, the company believes the segment should help share the burden from the motherboard business and also spread the risk. Gigabyte shipped 300,000 notebooks in 2009 and expects to ship 400,000-500,000 units in 2010.
