Japanese Doctors Use iPad During Surgery

By

Here is a new way to use the Apple iPad: A team of doctors in Japan, which began selling the iPad tablet in late May, have incorporated the device into as a tool in the operating room at Kobe University. As the video below shows, the plastic-wrapped iPad is being used as a display during actual surgical procedures.

Its not really an elegant solution, as not only the device is wrapped in plastic, but it also requires two people to hold it in place and to show the screen to doctors. But we may be on our way to give one iPad to each doctor and nurse on the planet (the doctor at the end says it was actually useful during the procedure).
