Palm for Sale? Any Takers?

Bloomberg News is reporting that Palm, makers of the Pre and Pixi phones, is shopping itself to prospective buyers including rivals RIM, HTC and Lenovo. Reports are still unconfirmed, but many have been forecasting a move like this since sales of their smartphones on Verizons network were at their lowest point this recent quarter. The question now is: Who is interested?
Whether the sale of Palm would be a death knell for the company or a smart move to revitalize the brand and technology is anybody’s guess. Palm’s WebOS is a potentially strong contender in the smartphone arena, and if the right buyer puts the OS on the right device, they might be on to a winner.
