Next Futuremark 3DMark Benchmark Will Test DX11 Performance

By

In an interview with Futuremark that was published last week it was slipped that the next version of 3DMark would be running Microsoft DirectX 11. We got a chance to speak to President of Futuremark Inc. and he was able to confirm the story, but wouldn’t give us any hint of a launch date. He concluded by saying that the upcoming 3DMark benchmark will use ‘knock your socks off technology’ and we hope that it really does! We want to see those ATI Radeon HD 5870 and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480 video cards bleed!

“I’d also like to highlight the fact that in the other half of our office, our 3DMark team is working on some seriously awesome DX11 stuff. It looks great, and that focus and investment in the latest graphics tech has benefits for the game studio too…” – Jukka

“I cant really comment on the tech or schedule except to say that from what Ive seen so far, it is knock your socks off technology…” – Ollie
