AMD Announces Strong Support for Upcoming AMD Opteron 6000 Series Platform

AMD has announce a very ‘robust’ lineup of upcoming motherboard and peripheral products for the recently announced AMD Opteron 6000 Series, or, Magney-Cours which will contain 8- and 12 core processors. Nortech, ZT Systems, and SGI are only some of the names mentioned when looking at the list of builder and infrastructure partners who have agreed to support this next-gen platform.

Our industry partners are ready to showcase the advantages of AMDs new Direct Connect Architecture 2.0, said Patrick Patla, vice president and general manager, Server and Embedded Divisions, AMD. The additional performance enabled with more cores, more memory channels and more features is a value their customers are eager to put to work.
