‘Console Killer’ OnLive To Launch in June

Maybe hoping to capitalize on a slow recovering economy, OnLive hopes to make consoles obsolete by offering streaming game content – eliminating the need for download, software purchases and ongoing hardware upgrades. This has been in the works for eight years so I would hazard a guess that they have worked out any bugs and performance issues dealing with latencies.

A gaming service that aims to kill off the traditional gaming console will begin streaming popular games over the internet in June this year.

OnLive, which launched to much fanfare in 2009, announced details of its service at the GamesBeat conference.
