EVGA UV Plus+ UV16 USB 2.0 Video Adapter
The EVGA UV Plus+ 16 Arrives
With the shape the US economy is in, everyone is looking for ways to save money. A trend that has been big in large cities for a while that is now trickling down to other places is a 4-day workweek. Telecommuting or working from home is also another way that employers are gaining some use from their employees on light days. However, for employees working from home on a laptop it can be a little frustrating if you are used to having dual monitors at your desk for working on spreadsheets, power points, etc. You come home and it seems as if it takes double the amount of time that it should because your stuck on a tiny little laptop monitor. Unless you take your docking station home with you there have been few options for using two monitors, at least until now. Enter the EVGA UV Plus+. With the UV Plus+ you are now able to make use of two monitors (if youve got two at home) without un-hooking your docking station connections, putting it in the bag and then setting it back up at home, just to take it down again the next time you are in the office. Best of all, it is much cheaper than buying a second docking station.
So what is this EVGA UV Plus+? A USB video display adapter that allows you to extend or mirror your desktop. It works with Windows 2000 SP4, XP SP2, and Vista, but only the 32-bit flavors of those OSs. We were impressed to see that it has full support for the Aero interface in Vista!
As you can see it’s got a mini-USB to USB cable to make setup even simpler. The UV Plus comes in two different models, we are looking at the UV Plus+ UV 16. We do not have a sample of the UV 12, but not to fear, there is very little difference between them, lets take a look at the supported resolutions.
The only difference between the two models, besides the price, is that the UV 16 supports up to 1600 x1200 and 1600 x1050. The UV 12 model stops at 1440×900. Lets move on to the bundle now.
