School Allegedly Used Webcams to Lurk in Students’ Homes

There is a disturbing developing story regarding a school remotely manipulating web cams on student laptops to spy on them although the school claims it is only used as a security measure to track stolen or missing laptops.
A Pennsylvania couple has filed a lawsuit against their local school district for allegedly using the webcam in a school-issued laptop to spy on their son at home. The suit alleges that the Lower Merion School District of Ardmore, Pa., invaded students’ privacy and stole private information, violating numerous laws.
