For the first half of 2009, the company’s notebook shipments were flat at 1.6 million units compared to the same period last year, whereas motherboard shipments declined 22.06% on year to 8.4 million units, the company said. ECS pointed out that inventory was digested smoothly in the first half helping to significantly increase net profits despite unsatisfactory performance in both notebook and motherboard shipments. Currently, ECS’s motherboard and graphics cards business accounts for around 30% of the company’s revenues, while desktops contribute around 30% and notebooks 40%.
