Jobs Shakes Up Apple Management Over MobileMe

By

Sometimes being the mavericks of the tech industry is not all that its cracked up to be. Apple CEO Steve Jobs has turned over leadership of MobileMe a suite of features that works with Mac OS X Mail, iCal, and Address Book like MS Exchange to the executive who heads iTunes. In the past, Apple has very rarely beta tested their software, but since this experience might make them rethink their position.

In the e-mail sent to workers on Monday, Jobs acknowledged that the launch of MobileMe “was not our finest hour,” saying it “was simply not up to Apple’s standards.” He also noted that the service, which debuted on July 11 along with the iPhone 3G and the new App Store, needed more testing and should have been rolled out in phases.
