Sony Chops PSNow Price in Half
Sony has made a move to get fans of the PlayStaiton to buy the PlayStation Now game streaming service. When the service launched, it was at $19.99 monthly; with the price cut, the service will now cost $9.99 monthly.
Sony has stated that it is making the price cut to keep up with the competition. The move makes PSNow cheaper than the high-end Xbox Service at $14.99 monthly, which includes the Live Gold online service. Sony’s new price maches the cost of the $9.99 monthly Xbox service that doesnt incude online access. The new price is seemingly good for existing subscribers and new subscribers.
Sony’s serivce has 800 games that fans can play. Sony plans to add other games to the service with soem of them being big name titles that will lure in palyers during the holiday season. The games include Uncharted 4: A Theif’s End, God of War and GTA V.
The price cut is a big deal for Sony. “Word of mouth is still important when convincing your peers and people you game with that this is a good solution,” said Carolina Milanesi, an analyst at Creative Strategies. “if price is the first hurdle, then you don’t even get a chance to show your technology is superior.”
