Epson LS500 Laser Projection TV Works in Any Light

Anyone who has ever had a projector in their room knows that ambient light kills the image quality most of the time. Epson has a new product that it calls the Epson LS500 Laser Projection TV that will throw up to a 120-inch image in virtually any lighting environment. Epson is billing it as an alternative to traditional LCD and OLED TVs.

Epson says that the projector is capable of throwing 4K HDR images with “outstanding” color and white brightness. The projector TV solution runs the Android TV operating system and has a simple-to-use remote that supports voice search with Google Assistant. It supports all sorts of streaming shows such as Netflix, HBO, Showtime, YouTube, Hulu, ESPN, and more.

The screen is as high-tech as the projector and can reject ambient light. This means a quality image even if the room lights are on or daylight is coming through a window nearby. The projector offers 2,500,000:1 contrast ratio and 10-bit color processing.

The LS500 Laser Projection system will launch in Q1 2020. It will be offered via Magnolia and CEDIA dealers in black or white models with 100-inch or 120-inch versions. The 100-inch will sell for $4,999, and the 120-inch will sell for $5,999.
