Nintendo Switch Lite Breaks Cover

After months of rumors that Nintneod had a smaller and more portable version of the Switch coming for gamers on the go, the new console has debuted. The new console is called the Switch Lite, and it will launch on September 20, 2019, for $199.99.

The new console is completely dedicated to handheld play and is designed to be compact and lightweight. The controllers are built into the side, and the left side has a +control Pad. Switch Lite plays all Switch games that work in handheld mode. It comes in three colors, including yellow, gray, and turquoise.

Local wireless allows up to eight Switch Lite and Switch systems to play multiplayer games together anywhere. The device is also compatible with the Switch Online membership. The device supports the eShop, News, and Album.

Nintendo says that more than 2,000 games are compatible with the Switch Lite and counting. On November 8, 2019, the Switch Lite Zacian and Zamazenta editions will launch for the same $199.99 MSRP. That console is white with Pokemon art on it.
