Far Cry New Dawn Sales are Down Significantly Compared to Past Franchise Entries
Far Cry fans might not be happy with the latest installment of the franchise, Far Cry New Dawn. As popular as the previous entry in the franchise, Far Cry 5 was, New Dawn has tanked in sales compared to FC5.
Reports indicate that sales are down significantly compared to both Far Cry Primal and Far Cry 5. While the numbers don’t include digital sales, the first week sales for New Dawn are down 86.5% compared to Far Cry 5. Compared to the last spin-off game, Far Cry Primal, New Dawn has sold a bit more than 25% as many copies as Primal over the same time frame.
One thing that could contribute to the sagging numbers is that New Dawn launched on a Friday rather than a Tuesday as previous games did. That means less time for sales to happen reports PCGamesN.
That said, it’s hard to imagine a couple extra days making a massive difference in sales. Despite slow sales compared to previous franchise titles, New Dawn was still at the top of the sales charts this week, a bit ahead of Metro Exodus.
