The Elder Scrolls: Blades Delayed Until 2019

Bethesda is having a hard time right now with Fallout 76 tanking in reviews and gamers calling for refunds. The company has also been working on a free-to-play mobile game called The Elder Scrolls: Blades that was expected to launch this fall. That won’t happen.

Bethesda has announced that the game will be delayed and won’t launch until sometime in 2019. The announcement came via a tweet that says “early 2019” but offers no indication of a specific launch date.

The tweet does note that the game will launch on both iOS and Android devices. Fans interested in the game can register for Early Access at PlayBlades.com. The game sounds like something a bit different from other mobile games out there.

Polygon got to play the game already and says that input is via gestures with taps causing the character to walk and swipes controlling where they look. Attacks are initiated by pressing and holding the screen. Attacks are directed depending on where you press the screen. The entire game is essentially set up for one-handed operation.
