Sony will Skip E3 2019
Sony has announced that it is done with the gaming-centric E3 show that is held in California each summer. The show has struggled over the last few years as companies have deemed it irrelevant and held big announcements and new products for other venues. E3 is a bit of a letdown for gamers at times.
Often the games announced there aren’t what gamers wanted, or the games are so early that they never get published or see years of delays. Sony issued a statement about its lack of E3 2019 participation reports TechCrunch.
“As the industry evolves, Sony Interactive Entertainment continues to look for inventive opportunities to engage the community. PlayStation fans mean the world to us and we always want to innovate, think differently and experiment with new ways to delight gamers. As a result, we have decided not to participate in E3 in 2019. We are exploring new and familiar ways to engage our community in 2019 and cant wait to share our plans with you.”
As of now, Microsoft is still planning to be at E3 2019. Nintendo will be there, but it hasn’t really made a big announcement at the show in years. We could be looking at the end of E3.
