PlayStation Classic Will Work with Any Old USB Adapter
Last week Sony announced that it would be launching a new retro console called the PlayStation Classic. This console will come loaded with a bunch of classic games which are mostly unannounced at this point. When the console was announced Sony mentioned that a power adapter would cost extra.
Sony has now given up a few more details on the console, including that it will work with any Smartphone USB adapter. That means that while it only ships with a USB cable for power, everyone has a USB adapter sitting around and can run the console right out of the box. Sony says any USB power source meeting the 5V/1.0A requirement will work.
The USB ports on the console might have led some to believe that they would be able to use other controllers with the consoles. Sony says that the USB ports will only support the controllers the console ships with. No other USB devices are supported.
Anyone wondering about the ability to play games online with the console Sony says the PS Classic wont support any online play, including the PS Network. That is really no surprise. Games will vary depending on the region the console launches in and the launch is set for December 3 at $99.99 reports Playstationlifestyle.
