AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX Scores 5099 on Cinebench R15
Over the weekend it appears that AMD France accidentally published benchmark scores for the unreleased AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2900WX 64-Core, 32-Thread processor. AMD quickly removed the score, but thanks to Google Web Cache you can still see the footnotes here. The multi-CPU score for the 2900WX was shown to be 5099.3 when averaged on. The Intel Core i9-7980XE 18-core, 36-thread processor scored 3335.2 on average for the same Cinebench R15 benchmark test. AMD is claiming to be 53% faster than Intel on this particular benchmark!
The AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX is available to pre-order at $1799.99 and the Intel Core i9-7980XE is available now at $1970.23 shipped. It looks like the high-end desktop market just got really interesting!
