Nintendo Announces Playable Super Smash Bros. Ultimate at Evo 2018
Fans of Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. franchise will be glad to hear that after being announced at E3 2018, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be playable at Evo 2018. The game will officially launch on the Switch in December 2018. Nintendo says that the game will offer a “myriad” of new gameplay mechanics.
Ultimate will also feature every fighter that has ever appeared in the series before. Those old characters will slot into the game alongside new characters like Daisy, Inkling, and Ridley. Nintendo says that there have been few playable builds so far, but at Evo 2018 attendees will get that chance.
Nintendo calls the Evo 2018 game an “early demo” but it is sure to be polished enough to let gamers see what to expect when the full title launches. Evo 2018 is going down August 3-5 in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay hotel.
Nintendo wrote, “Super Smash Bros. has long been a central part of Evo; this year continues to see the classic Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U games both featured as main stage events, with Super Smash Bros. Melee also part of the World Finals on Sunday. Thousands of fans will be in attendance at Las Vegas to compete and celebrate this series, including the best players in the world. There simply isnt a better place to experience Super Smash Bros. Ultimate than at the ultimate fighting game event of the year!”
