Next Update Pushes “No Man’s Sky” to #7 on Steam Charts

“No Man’s Sky” has been quite the controversial video game since it launched back in 2016. The problem that gamers had with it at launch was that it was very far from what the devs had promised and didnt look like the screenshots on Steam. The game has made several improvements over the months, but none of them helped its sales much.

The latest update was called Next and finally two years after launch the game has the features that most feel it should have offered from the get go. With the Next update, the game has gone from one of the most maligned video games on Steam to the top of the Steam sales chart. Next brought to the game multiplayer and a graphics overhaul.

The game is now in the seventh place on the sales chart and reviews have gone from mixed to Very Positive over the last few days with 82% of the reviews in that period being positive. The game boasted 90,651 concurrent players recently reports Techspot.

I’m certainly among the gamers who wanted “No Man’s Sky” to be what it promised early on, but the poor reviews kept me away. With the Next update and the game being on sale on Steam for $30 this weekend, I bought it. It had a steep learning curve in the start, but it is most certainly a fun game. If you want shooting action it might not be for you, at least in my early play, but as a crafting/building/exploring game, it is very fun.
