Latest Star Citizen Alpha Build Adds Mining and Quantum Jumps
Star Citizen has gained some very cool new features in the latest alpha build of the game. The biggest new addition to the game in version 3.2.0 is the introduction of mining. Players are now able to scan for ore deposits on available moons, fracture the moon, and extract the minerals found. Players can then sell the cargo.
Cargo can be sold at kiosks on GeimHex, Levski, and Port Olisar. The catch to this is that there is only one spaceship in the game capable of mining right now. That ship is the MISC Prospector meaning that you will need to buy or borrow one to partake in mining.
Another cool feature allows people playing as a group to all perform quantum travel together. With this feature when one player in a group spools their quantum drive and selects a location, data on that location is sent to other players who can join in the jump.
All other players who choose to jump to the final location give control over to the original player to initiate the jump reports Neowin. I’ve not played Star Citizen, but it certainly sounds like a cool game.
