Epic Sues Fortnite Leaker Over Dusty Divot Details
Epic games has filed a lawsuit against a man called Thomas Hannah. Hannah was a quality assurance contractor that Epic is blaming for the leak of the information posted to Reddit giving up the true location of where the long talked about comet was to hit. Gamers originally thought the comet would hit Tilted Towers, but Hannah allegedly confirmed via Reddit that Dusty Depot was where the comet would hit reports GameRant.
Hannah allegedly worked with a third party to leak the information, but the third party isnt named in the lawsuit filed by Epic. Hannah has been accused of providing the information about the real site of the comet impact and the superhero theme that Fortnite would adopt. These leaked details were a violation of the non-disclosure agreement that Hannah had signed according to Epic.
Hannah maintains that he was hit with a “series of questions and guesses regarding where the meteor would hit” by the unnamed third party. Hannah has apparently admitted that the leak of the information was in violation of his non-disclosure but claims that he didnt deliberately work with the other person to leak details.
Hannah also says that he had nothing to do with the Reddit leak and that what he told the third party was similar to a private conversation. Hannah maintains he had no control over the outcome of that conversation. Epic is seeking punitive damages for what it claims is “irreparable injury” and Hannah’s legal team is asking that the entire case be thrown out of court.
