Pokmon Go Update Allows Trading of Creatures

Niantic has announced that a new update for Pokmon Go will land this week and with that update will come two long-anticipated features. The new features include the ability to trade Pokmon and a friends list. The friends list feature will allow gamers to share six-letter Trainer Codes that are specific to each player to add each other to friends list.

Once the friend request has been accepted, the trainer can look at their friends’ stats in the main profile screen including recent activity. Players can also send each other gifts online consisting of special new items found at PokeStops or gyms that are only for sharing with friends. The items can be helpful for players and include exclusive Pokmon Eggs.

One of the eggs is a new yellow one that requires players to walk seven kilometers to hatch. That will give them a special egg-only Alolan form of a classic Pokmon. More interaction means more benefits. As for the Pokmon trading function, it only works locally and won’t support trading online. The players must be physically near each other to initiate a trade reports Polygon.

Players will have to be level 10 in Pokmon Go to get the trade feature. There are no limits on what Pokmon can be traded, but the approval does have to be confirmed by the trading partner. Stardust is required to complete each trade and trades cost more or less depending on friendship level. Trades are only available between Great Friends level and higher.
