NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1180 FE Expected To Arrive in July 2018
The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 FE was launched two years ago on this week, so it seems fitting that more NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1180 FE rumors are floating around right now. This time it’s from Tom’s Hardware and they believe that the GeForce GTX 11-series will be launching in July! The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1180 FE sounds like it will be a powerful gaming graphics card with Turing GPU comprised of 3,584 CUDA cores, a clock speed between 1.6-1.8GHz and 8-16GB of possibly GDDR6 memory. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1170 might also launch at this time and is rumored to have 2,688 CUDA cores, running at 1.5 to 1.8GHz, and also have GDDR6 memory.
Igor Wallossek of Tom’s Hardware Germany spoke with a number of Add-in-Board (AIB) partners under conditions of anonymity and was told the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1180 Founders Edition card would launch in July 2018 with third-party cards to follow in August or September. The sources told Igor that they will be getting Turing GPUs from NVIDIA on or around June 15th, so expect more AIB image leaks after that date.
NVIDIA Quadro cards based on Turing are expected to be shown at Siggraph in August, so it looks like this is shaping up to be a great summer for NVIDIA GPU lovers. Pascal has served the market extremely well and we can’t wait to see what Turing will offer. When NVIDIA launched the Pascal GPU in May 2016 NVDA stock was around $40 a share and today a single share of NVDA is over $250. NVIDIA stock went on more than a 6x bull run with Pascal being the primary GPU being sold. Revenue in the gaming segment is up 68% year over year to $1.7 billion. Growth has been primarily fueled by demand from esports enthusiasts and battle royale gamers. NVIDIA says that cryptocurrency mining-specific chips raked in $289 million and were included in the OEM segment, but we all know that regular gaming graphics cards were bought by miners and not gamers. It will be interesting to see
