Bioware’s Anthem Promises Ways for Fans to Play Early
Plenty of video games these days allow players to play the game in an alpha or beta period before the official launch. PUBG, for instance, was an early access game on Steam for a long time before the game officially launched. Destructoid reports that Bioware’s Anthem game will likely go through a similar early access period.
EA’s CEO Andrew Wilson has said that with Anthem being a social game, there will be new ways for fans to join the community and play the game early so that they can shape and refine the game with input and feedback from fans. That’s not a direct admission that there will be an Early Access period for the game, but it sure sounds like it.
Wilson said, “Every dimension of this game will offer something entirely new for a wide audience of players — from a new universe with unique stories that BioWare is creating, to the cooperative gameplay, to the epic and beautiful environment that constantly evolves around players.”
EA CFO Blake Jorgensen did state during a Q&A session that Anthem was set to launch in the last month of the fiscal year. That would mean March 2019. Anthem is still quite the mystery with no hard details on the game at this point, with E3 coming up perhaps we will learn more then.
