Epic Pulls Guided Missile from Fortnite
Epic made a post on Reddit recently where it talked about some changes it was making to Fortnite. Epic says that it tried to patch an issue with unintended behavior when shooting, but that introduced a peeking bug that meant some players accidentally shot up their own structures. That fix causing the new bug will be rolled back this week with v3.5.2 and Epic says it will reconsider how to fix the original issue.
Epic also notes that it introduced weapon equip times to balance quick switching between different weapons with low rates of fire recently. A hotfix was made to change that feature after player feedback. Snipers and Crossbows are ditching the equip time. The equip time delay for other weapons will remain.
Epic plans to improve weapon animations in a future update. This will be to prevent the weapons from seeming more sluggish than they are because some are able to fire before they appear ready. The big change is the elimination of a new weapon that was added not long ago.
Epic wrote, “Weve gotten a lot of feedback around the Guided Missile, in particular, concerns over fairness and strength of the weapon. We share your concerns, so weve put the Guided Missile into the vault while we figure out the next steps for its future.”
