BioWare’s GM Casey Hudson Talks of the Future
BioWare GM Casey Hudson has posted a studio update to give fans of the company an idea what is going on and what the company is working on. Hudson says that he and BioWare want to talk upcoming titles and about development as the launch of Anthem nears. He talks about how unhappy some players were with the fact that BioWare never offered DLC for Mass Effect: Andromeda.
He says that players wanted a DLC that answered the question of what happened to the quarians. Sadly, Hudson never says that question will be answered. He notes that the unhappiness players felt at that open story was part of the refocusing moment in the BioWare mission.
That mission is now to “delight players with new experiences and innovation.” He notes that the company has to stay focused on the importance of the world, character, and storytelling elements players expect from BioWare games.
Hudson writes, “Its in that spirit that we are working through production on Anthema game designed to create a whole new world of story and character that you can experience with friends in an ongoing series of adventures. It will be unlike anything youve played, but if we do it right, it will feel very distinctly BioWare.” No real answers or insights here, but Hudson promises more details on Anthem and the games that will follow in a future blog post.
