Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man Launches September 7

Marvel fans now have an exact launch date when the Insomniac Games Spider-Man title will land on the PS4 game system. That launch date is Friday, September 7 and the game will be a PS4 exclusive. Insomniac says that it has spent the last few years working on this game and it is excited about the launch.

The box art for the game has been revealed and is the image below. The game developer says that while Spidey has a new suit the pose is meant to be a throwback to 50 years of comic book art. Insomniac writes, “Astute fans of the wall-crawler will see nods to the work of J. Scott Campbell, Mark Bagley, John Romita Sr., John Romita Jr., Joe Quesada and (of course) Steve Ditko, as well as many other iconic Spider-Man artists.”

As for versions of the game, there will be the standard version, Digital Deluxe, and a Collector’s Edition of the game. The standard version will sell for $59.99. The Digital Deluxe version will be $79.99 and will include new story chapters via DLC after launch. A total of three story chapters DLC will be included.

Buyers of that special edition will also get a limited edition collectible pin via mail. The Collector’s Edition will sell for $149.99 and will have all the digital deluxe content, a Steelbook case, mini Artbook from Titan Books, and a statue by Gentle Giant.
