Pokmon Go Research Feature Leads to Discovery of Mew

Niantic has announced that a new field Research and Special Research feature is coming to Pokmon Go. Along with those new features, the Mythical Psychic-Type Pokmon Mew will soon start to appear around the world. Trainers will be receiving research tasks later this week that add new activities and challenges that players can complete for rewards in the game.

Some of the rewards will give trainers access to unique storylines that will lead to discovering the mystery behind Mew. The Field Research tasks can be collected by spinning nearby PokeStops and include a range of activities.

Special Research tasks are story-driven activities that may be requested by Professor Willow and will unfold as players complete objectives. Trainers can complete multiple Field Research tasks each day with more challenging tasks bringing better rewards for players.

Trainers are also able to earn a single stamp per day by completing at least one Field Research task. After earning seven stamps, the player will earn a Research breakthrough to gain greater rewards and a possible encounter with a Legendary Pokmon.
