Cuphead Sold Over 2 Million Copies Mostly on Steam
If you are a fan of the odd, cartoon-like video game Cuphead, it has reached a milestone. Cuphead developer StudioMDHR has announced that the game has sold over 2 million copies since launch. It took the game only 2 weeks post-launch to hit a million copies sold.
“Even in our wildest dreams, we never thought our crazy little characters would be embraced by this many fans from around the world and we are continuously humbled by your support,” wrote studio co-founder Chad Moldenhauer. “So to everyone who has drawn fan art, composed memes, performed songs, conquered challenge runs, streamed their playthrough, or just played Cuphead and had a good time, we love and appreciate all of you from the bottom of our hearts.”
At two weeks post-launch Steam Spy reported that 575,000 copies had sold on Steam. Steam Spy is now showing about 1.1 million copies sold on Steam. The PC is the premiere platform for this game and it is offered on GOG and the Microsoft Store as well.
To celebrate Christmas and the sales numbers, MDHR is giving away Cuphead game keys on the official Twitter feed. PC Gamer says the odds of getting a free key arent good, but if you dont follow you certainly wont win.
