PowerColor GAMING STATION To Replace Devil Box
The PowerColor Devil Box external video card enclosure was announced last year, but it took months to come out and was rather expensive at $375. That product is now over a year old and you can find it for $249 after rebate at Newegg. The Devil Box has a 500W power supply and you can put in any dual-slot graphics card you want as long as it fits inside and uses less than 375 Watts. We never got a chance to review the unit, but PowerColor is launching a new external GPU enclosure that they call the Gaming Station. It is less edgy looking, but has a number of improvements done inside.
For starters the Powerolor Gaming Station has a larger 550W SFX form factor power supply that is 80 PLUS Gold Certified, but the max GPU TDP is still 375 Watts. It also looks like PowerColor did away with the USB 3.0 Type-C port found on the original Devil Box for another USB 3.0 Type-A port. That means this box has a total of five USB 3.0 Type-A ports. If the original styling doesn’t bother you the Devil Box at $249 sounds like it will be hard to beat. PowerColor has not announced pricing nor when it will be available to purchase, but we have asked!
