Autobahn Motors in Singapore Has the Largest Luxury Car Vending Machine
A used car dealer in Singapore, Autobahn Motors, has erected a 15 storey building in December that doubles as an auto showroom. The building works like a “vending machine” and is operated via touchpad for the potential buyer to browse through the available cars. It holds up to 60 cars and is known now as “the world’s largest luxury car vending machine.” This isn’t something the average consumer would use when purchasing a car and chances are, if you’re buying a car out of a vending machine, it’ll likely be a higher end car and here I am wondering if I have enough change to buy an energy drink before my 10am class.
This building wasn’t designed just because they had the ability to build it. Rather, with the little space in Singapore’s cities, Autobahn Motors had to store a specific amount of cars within the available space. The general manager of Autobahn Motors, Gary Hong, stated, “We needed to meet our requirement of storing a lot of cars. At the same time, we wanted to be creative and innovative.” Certainly, they wouldn’t be able to push out too many cars if they stuck to a single floor and let you choose between an Acura, Alfa Romeo, and an Audi. The buyer would be wondering which other Autobahn Motors holds the rest of the alphabet. Browsing is simple, as soon as the potential buyer picks a car, it takes only a few minutes before the summoned car makes its way to the buyer. With this building towering above most other car dealerships, it surely singles it out from the rest of the competition.
