Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is Rumored to Release in a Few Months

The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 arrived in late 2015 and was overdue for an upgrade. News has it there will be a new Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is rumored to releasing in a few months in spring of 2017.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will feature Intels latest seventh generation Kaby Lake processor. It is rumored the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will come equipped with 16GB of RAM and 512G of SSD. If accurate, it is possibly underwhelming considering the current Surface Pro 4 currently comes with 512GB and 1TB on SSD and 16GB of RAM.

More to be expected from the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 include USB-C and Thunderbolt 3 connections. The Surface Pro 5 is also reported to have rechargeable batteries through the Surface Pro 5 magnetic rechargeable dock. It will include a fingerprint scan for better managed security and identification.

Customers may currently purchase the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 with a $250 dollar price cut. That makes the Microsoft Surface Pro approximately $649 dollars. The most current Microsoft Surface Pro 4 starting price is $899 and comes equipped with an Intel Core m3 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 128 GB SSD. The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 caps with a 2.2 GHZ i7 processor, 16 GB of RAM, 256GB SSD, a resolution of 2736 X 1824 (267 PPI), and a battery life up to 9 hours of video playback. Microsoft has yet to officially announce the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 specs, but we have the prior convertible to measure up to. Perhaps Microsoft will confirm rumors and provide more details at CES Q1 of 2017. Hopefully more is revealed to justify upgrading from the 2015 Surface Pro 4.
