Samsung 4TB 850 EVO SSD Debuts With 48-Layer 256Gbit TLC V-NAND
Samsung has introduced the worlds highest capacity consumer SSD – the 4TB 850 EVO! The drive utilizes Samsung’s 48-Layer 256Gbit TLC V-NAND with the Samung MHX controller and 4GB LPDDR3 memory to deliver unsurpassed performance, reliability and capacity. The new 4TB capacity is priced at $1,499.99 and is available to purchase right now on the Samsung store site. The 4TB 850 EVO will be available in 50 countries and regions, including the U.S., Korea, China and Europe. At that price you are looking at around $0.38 per GB and not too many people are going to be able to afford the drive. The good news is that 4TB SSDs are here and that will help push lower capacity SSD pricing down as Samsung rolls out 48-Layer 256Gbit TLC V-NAND to other capacity drives.
