Twitch Creative Launches with Marathon Stream of “The Joy of Painting” with Bob Ross
On Thursday, Twitch launched the new Creative category with Adobe as a launch partner. The new official category is dedicated for livestream artists and gives them a space them to demonstrate and showcase their creative process with viewers. The dedicated category has its own landing page to highlight interesting creative broadcasts. To celebrate the launch of Twitch Creative, all 403 episodes of Bob Ross’s oil painting show, The Joy of Painting, are being broadcasted at http://www.twitch.tv/bobross. The 8.5 day marathon started on Thursday at 2PM PST.
Ross was born on October 29, 1942 which would have made Thursday his 73rd birthday. His show The Joy of Painting originally ran from January 11, 1983 to May 17, 1994 on PBS in the United States. Ross was diagnosed with cancer which led to his retirement after the final episode in 1994 and eventually his death on July 4, 1995 at the age of 52.
