SteelSeriesWe caught up to our friends at SteelSeries on the first day of the Electronic Entertainment Expo, better known as E3 2015, as they were showing off their new console headsets and PC controller. Most of their crew flew in from Chicago where their US headquarters are located. Instead of having a big flashy booth on the floor, SteelSeries elected to host us in a very cool meeting room just off the convention floor. SteelSeries E3 SiberiaSteelSeries were introducing us to their new line of Siberia console headsets, the Siberia X100 ($69.99), X300 ($129.99), and X800 ($329.99), all specifically designed and built for the Microsoft Xbox One gaming platform. SteelSeries also had the P100 ($49.99), P300 ($99.99), and P800 ($299.99) gaming headsets there which were designed for the Sony PlayStation 4.

The Siberia headsets have been showing up at a ton of eSports events throughout the world and SteelSeries has recently inked a deal with Evil Geniuses (Team EG) for not only sponsorship on the eSports stage, but also for new product development.

“I had a great experience using SteelSeries products in the past and I can’t wait to return to using their gear again – just in time for WCS! SteelSeries gear is what I’m comfortable with and has brought me great luck during past tournaments, said Lee Jaedong Jae-Dong, professional player for Evil Geniuses.

SteelSeries Stratus XL E3

These eSports professionals are not only wearing the SteelSeries Siberia headsets, but many of them are using the new Stratus XL Wireless Gaming Controller. This controller is designed for Windows and Android use and is a very nice size to fit solidly in your hand. The Stratus XL controller doesnt need any extra help connecting to your PC or HTPC and functions just like an Xbox 360 controller on Windows. For those looking to get a Steam Box later this year, the controller is Steam Enabled allowing you to play all of your controller enabled Steam games thats over 2000 game titles and counting! The controller not only works on Windows and Steam platforms, but you can use the Stratus XL for your Android devices as well with a simple button push that toggles the platform mode. The Stratus XL will be available later this summer for $69.99

SteelSeries Siberia E3

We should have a detailed review sometime this summer, but from our brief time with the headsets and controller, SteelSeries seems to have really dialed in on what users are looking for: Sturdy in the hand; solid buttons and response; something that looks good on the desk or table; and a wide variety of devices that are very reasonably priced.
