Samsung Introduces Compact and Fast External SSD

During the Samsung CES 2015 press conference, Tim Baxter, president and COO of Samsung Electronics America briefly presented the Samsung Portable SSD T1 external solid state drive. On stage, the drive’s stylish and compact design, smaller than a business card… were exhibited during the short time it held out for the audience to see.

Official specifications list the external SSD with sequential read/write speeds of up to 450MB/s on USB 3.0, faster than the majority of USB flash drives, far faster than external hard drives, and comparable to some of the faster internal SSDs. Pricing starts at $179.99 for 250GB, then $299.99 for 500GB, and $599.99 for 1TB.
