BIOSTAR TP67XE Intel LGA 1155 Sandy Bridge Motherboard Review
The BIOSTAR TP67XE Motherboard Unveiled
When you think about motherboards, what is the first company that comes to mind? ASUS? GIGABYTE? MSI? Sure, those companies all make great products; there’s no arguing that. Though there are those out there that will, but then again there are those out there that will argue the color of the sky if it suits them. When it comes to motherboards, many don’t think about some of the smaller companies. In this case, we are referring to BIOSTAR. BIOSTAR may not be as widely known as those mentioned above, and it may shock some to know that BIOSTAR started up in 1986. Yup, BIOSTAR is turning 25 this year. If you haven’t yet guessed, we are going to be taking an in depth look at the performance and features of one of the new BIOSTAR Intel P67 motherboards.
Currently BIOSTAR offers a pair of Intel P67 motherboards. The first is BIOSTAR TP67B+ which carries an MSRP of $114.99. The BIOSTAR TP67B+ is a full ATX motherboard, and at first glance it might be a great entry level board. That board is a story for another day though. Today we have the opportunity to look at the top Intel P67 motherboard from BIOSTAR, the BIOSTAR TP67XE. The BIOSTAR TP67XE features just about all of the features you would like to see on a high end board, without the high end price tag! The BIOSTAR TP67XE comes to the field at only $149.99! That’s a great price for a motherboard that features both Crossfire and SLI, as well as just about everything else you could want.
Many of the features on the BIOSTAR TP67XE are those that we have become accustomed to as standard. USB 3.0, Firewire, and SATA 6 are some of the features that have become an expected standard. There are other features that BIOSTAR has implemented that are exclusive to BIOSTAR. BIOSTAR has a Green Power Utility that enhances the going green effect. It is accomplished by disabling the extra CPU power phases while under a light CPU load. If you are one of the many who are using an Apple iPhone, iPad or one of many Android based devices, you can set it up to be used as a remote in a home theater environment. That isn’t the only feature of BIO-Remote2; it is also able to function as a mouse pad and in a power point presentation mode. Once again, if you are using an Apple device with the BIOSTAR Charger Booster, your Apple devices will charge up to 42% faster.
Now that we have taken a look at some of the key features of the BIOSTAR TP67XE motherboard, let’s take a look at the full specifications of the BIOSTAR TP67XE.
