By

DigiTimes has reported that industry insiders have told them that Intel Haswell “CPUs will appear on June 2 and related PC products will be showcased at Computex, hosted from June 4-8”. Haswell is the codename for a new microarchitecture under development by Intel that is destined to become the successor to the current Ivy Bridge architecture. Haswell uses the 22 nm process along with 3D tri-gate transistors to offer both better performance per clock and lower power consumption than existing Ivy Bridge designs. Intel Haswell desktop processors will use the LGA1150 socket which means that this will not be a drop in update for anyone and you’ll have to buy a new motherboard in order to use this processor. Rumor has it the first wave of Intel Haswell processors will include Core i7-4770K, i7-4770, i7-4770S, i7-4770T, i7-4765T, i5-4670K, i5-4670, i5-4670S, i5-4670T, i5-4570, i5-4570S, i5-4570T, i5-4430 and i5- 4430S.
