Rumor: Apple Branded Big Screen TVs on the Way

By

According to an anonymous source, Apple will introduce there own brand big screen TVs around the end of next year. The sets will be in the 46-55″ size range and be assembled by Hon Hai, the world’s largest contract electronics manufacturer with the initial testing phase at the company having already started. The LCD panels will be sourced by several Taiwanese and Japanese manufacturers and due to the range of LCD panel sizes required, Sharp will not need to be the only supplier of the panels.

Sales of the TVs are expected to be excellent and Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook recently told NBC News that these TVs are an “area of intense interest”. Indeed, if Apple can work its marketing magic on these types of products as it does on its iPhones, iPads and other products, then they will make a lot of money selling these TVs as a lot of people will go for the iconic brand and look of the products.

The source also predicted that Apple TV shipments could be huge and that new Apple TV-related products might be put on display at the well-known international consumer electronics trade fair, CES, to be held in Las Vegas in January.
