NVIDIA have today released their GeForce 310.33 beta drivers, which concentrate on performance improvements, no doubt in order to better compete with AMD’s 12.11 performance improvement drivers. These drivers cover all products, including Windows 8, Windows 7 and laptops, including the GTX 680M The GTX 680 improves the most, with a 15.7% gain in The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena at 2560×1600. Other games improve to the order of 2-7%. The GTX 660 improves by 7.5% in the same game.

Other improvements include control panel game enhancements adding support for ambient occlusion in various games such as Counter-strike: Global Offensive and MechWarrior Online. There are also new and updated SLI profiles for games such as Dirt: Showdown and Dota 2. We have new and updated 3D Vision profiles for Call of Duty Black Ops 2 and Dishonored. Finally, there’s a handful of bug fixes for issues such as slowdowns on quad SLI systems and non-functioning MSAA anti-aliasing in Diablo III. Full details and driver downloads are available at the link below.

We’ve increased performance in numerous games over the past year, and today we’re increasing performance yet again, with gains of up to 7.5% on the GTX 660, and 15.7% on the GTX 680. Other GTX 600 Series products will see gains also, though the extent of those improvements will of course vary and be further influenced by a user’s software and hardware configuration.
