The industry’s worst kept secret has been revealed by Apple at their launch event in San Francisco: today’s major product launch is indeed the iPhone 5. It’s 7.6mm thick, 18% thinner than the iPhone 4S, weighs 112g, 20 lighter than the iPhone 4S. The Retina screen is 4 inches in size with a 1136 x 640 pixel resoluton, 326ppi. It’s the same width as the 4S, but has a 16:9 aspect ratio, making it longer. It features more 44% more colour saturation than the 4S, making it full sRGB gamut. The iPhone 5 also features 4G LTE as expected, category 3. Carriers include, in the US: Sprint, AT&T and Verizon; in Canada: Rogers, Telus, Bell, SoftBank, KDDI, kt, SKt, SmarTone, M1, SingTel, Telstra, Optus, Virgin Mobile and more. The heart of the iPhone 5 is driven by an ARM Cortex A15, which is twice as fast at CPU and GPU functions.

Other products are doing very well too, such as market share for laptops being at number one in recent months. The AnandTech live blog below has more info on this breaking news!
