X2 has sent us a true 5.1 USB gaming headset to try out and it’s not relying on virtual surround sound to get the job done. Each earcup on the Saturn headset has multiple drivers which outputs different surround channels for better positional audio compared to two channel stereo headphones and headsets. You may or may not recognize X2’s parent company, Spire, but in any case, they are most well known for their heatsinks such as the Thermax Eclipse lineup.

The Saturn is not the only headset from X2, but it is their current flagship gaming headset. The Saturn in addition to its true surround sound implementation also features a flexible microphone, inline volume controller, and red LED lighting. This headset comes backed with a 2 year warranty and is only sold by Cooler Guys in the USA for $79.95. Let’s get unboxing. The whole is package doesn’t weigh much and internal space was filled with folded cardboard to secure the contents.
