AMD Cuts Desktop Processor Prices and Launches FX-4130 CPU

By

AMD today has updated its lineup of AMD FX Processors, adding the FX-4130 to the existing FX family. At a retail price of $112, the 4-core CPU provides PC enthusiasts with impressive performance at a great value. We know this as we reviewed the AMD FX-4100 processor last year. The AMD FX-4130 uses the 32nm Zambezi core architecture and ships with a clock speed of 3800MHz and 8MB of cache. The FX-4130 supports Turbo Core frequency, and can boost the CPU clock up to 3.9 GHz. The FX-4130 thermal design power is 125 watts. AMD also announced that it has reduced the prices across the entire FX series and the first generation of AMD A-Series APUs! You can see the old and new pricing implemented by AMD this morning in the chart below. Some of the price cuts are rather significant and should make building a PC for the back-to-school season even more affordable!

AMD CPU Price Cut

The AMD FX-4130 processor, for enthusiasts who like their graphics (GPU) interchangeable and upgradeable, is a 4-core CPU that clocks slightly below a 4GHz operating frequency in a 125W thermal envelope. Suggested retail price for the part is a highly competitive $112.
