Facebook Dogfoods Its Staff With Facebook Android App

By

Facebook’s Android app is known to be subpar, especially when compared with its Apple counterpart from the same outfit. Facebook management has now realized this and wants to fix it. To make the best app possible however, takes a lot of time and testing and generally, money, therefore, they are feeding that app to their own employees, “asking” them (the kind of “asking” to which the answer can only be “Yes”) to use it day in, day out and provide feedback on the experience. This practice of using one’s own product is known as “dogfooding” in the tech world and Facebook is so keen on this for their Android app, that they are doing whatever they can to prevent staff from using smartphones other than Android-based ones in order to maximise development and testing. One can just imagine how pleased keen iPhone users will be with this. Woof!
