By

Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Counter-Strike, Half-Life, Left 4 Dead, Portal, and Team Fortress) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced the first set of Software titles are heading to Steam, marking a major expansion to the platform most commonly known as a leading destination for PC and Mac games. Valve hasn’t announced any specific applications yet, but possible categories could include audio production, photo editing, accounting and utilities, as the Steam Android app revealed last month. It looks like Valve is turning Steam into a full-blown app store! Valve has done well in games, so it will be interesting to see how they fair!
